Colombia
Hi its me again...
Got a couple of hours before bus comes so got time for an update and upload some pix (tres slow connection) i rek cos otherwise ill forget what ive done. Yer anyway in venezuala we took a jeep ride round the grand sabana, table top mountains then saw the angel falls (superb). After that we bussed it up to porto colombia for a couple of beach days with Brian and Emily (top people) an english couple we keep bumping into who were travelling with two danish lesbians who we met on Isla Grande near Rio (they are married!!) Small gringo trail!!. So anyway James, dave, Brian and I pioneered the hasselhoff sea dive and body surfed. Met some nice people on lash in evening etc.. all in all was good yer mon. Left Venezuala and went to the seira nevada area in Colombia. The journey over the border was a tres mission loads of stops, changes and military checks but there you go. When in Santa Marta we arranged a week long Cuidad Perdida (Lost City of the Tayronas) Trek (3 days there 1 day in city 2 days back slept in hammocks). This was awesome; trekking through jungle and river crossings jumping in waterfall rock pools and the city itself is amazing if overgrown. James however fell down the Tres steep steps on way down and did his shoulder in so i had to carry our TRES heavy ruck sack all the way back (had one ruck sack cos day sacks turned out too small to carry both our stuff so took one big bag to share). Some of the climbs were very steep and hard work and we all got bitten by the insects, but nicolas our tour group cook was great and the scran was top notch Then after a day recovering (my legs and shoulders were screwed). We checked out the Tayrona national park (beautiful). Today we go to colonial coastal town Cartegna by bus. Thats it really!!!
a few pix of the last few weeks

the "surfers"
(carribean, Venezuala)

James standing in the main city arena Cuidada Perdida

Kean King of the Tayronas.
(Explanation: a member of our group Kelvin fancied himself as a bit of a photographer and told me to pose while he took some "cool" photos. He was a bit of an egomaniac who bossed around his friend sophie but anyway i found this photo he took tres amusing)

Pic of Jorge one of the friendly colombians from Bogata on our trip sliding down a water fall into a a rock pool. We all had to do it in the pathetic macho thing that us men do. Was actually quite fun.

Me standing in a waterfall. Good eh?

"lets off road lindsey"
some quality driving was required to get to the start of trek.
